FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ARE YOU A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE?

No we are not a social enterprise.  Although keen on social initiatives, we are not a for-profit organisation. Our “profits” are temporary and used to drive the charity arm. Our goal is to spend everything that we earn - purposefully. Ideally, good in-flow, good out-flow: net zero. This is the philosophy of life and death. We dont bring anything when we come, we dont take anything when we go. The second purpose of our enterprise arm is also to inspire like-minded and gutsy people for our charity initiatives. Just like Robin Hood and his Merry Men.

SO IF YOU ARE A CHARITY, YOU ACCEPT DONATIONS THEN?

Thank you for your kind intentions. We do not accept donations as it can belittle (and generate pity on) individuals we work with. In addition, we hope to test this self-sustaining model that can be replicated. The enterprise part is as essential as the charity part. One reaches out directly to the community; the other generates resources and inspire people to become involved.

IF YOU ARE BOTH AN ENTERPRISE AND A CHARITY, WHY NOT RUN TWO SEPARATE COMPANIES? YOU WILL AT LEAST GET SOME TAX REBATES!

Breaking up both initiatives will make one lose touch of the ultimate purpose. That is why we need people to be involved in both the charity and enterprise arm. Think of a father who works to bring home the bread, but do not have a hand in taking care of his child. Just like a broken pencil - pointless!
